Twenty years in sales, from the showroom floor to national accounts. Most recently, as Deako’s National Sales Trainer, I trained 400+ sales agents at partner D.R. Horton, America’s largest homebuilder, and I hold a Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Twenty years of selling, leading, and coaching, and what I’d bring to your team.
Developing people is the part of sales I love most, and I’ve done it my whole career: leading and coaching account executives at Spectrum, building and staffing teams across six Midwest markets, and most recently, as Deako’s National Sales Trainer, training 400+ sales agents at our partner D.R. Horton, America’s largest homebuilder, to sell our smart home packages.
Wherever I coach, the approach is the same: teach what actually helps people sell, deliver it where the selling happens, and stick around long enough to see it work. With D.R. Horton’s teams, that meant model homes, division presentation studios, and hands-on installs with agents.
I built every deck myself and delivered about 32 trainings a year, from lunch and learns and webinars to rooms of up to 70 agents.
The Brian Bump
Sales had a habit of going up after I came to town. Our team noticed and gave it a name.
My I‑O psychology master’s is the science behind that work: how adults learn, what keeps a sales team motivated, and how to tell a training program that changes behavior from one that just fills a calendar.
“The greatest training I’ve ever been to, and definitely the most fun.”
Vanessa, Sales Agent, D.R. Horton Jacksonville“I was nervous, and I thought my quirky side was hurting my sales. Brian told me to stop hiding it and own it. I became the #1 salesperson at DriveTime for two years, and now I’m a sales manager coaching my own team the same way.”
Ron, Sales Manager, Blue Compass RV HazelwoodShort coaching videos for salespeople who want to start the day right.
Training only matters if you can see it working. So I built the outreach CRM our national program runs on: 489 agents and 800+ model homes across 30+ divisions in one live system, replacing a pile of spreadsheets. It tracks readiness, flags hardware problems from 3,000+ switches, and gives leadership a weekly view of real adoption.
Demo with made-up data. The real system holds live agent and home records, so it stays private.

Training is an event. Performance comes from reinforcement.
I’m in the field, not behind a desk: training runs of up to 10 days straight, as many as three cities in a week. Every stop starts with a good-morning video from wherever the day finds me.
I’ve carried the bag, so I know what sales teams and their leaders need.
Home base is Saint Louis, where I live with my family. I’m an anime nerd, a sci-fi buff, and a devoted Star Trek fan. Put me in a road trip with a good playlist or a dark movie theater and I’m happy. That’s also why 10 days on the road never bothers me.
I’m also a wealth of useless knowledge, so challenge me at your own risk.

I’m available for remote roles in sales enablement, sales leadership, and strategic account management. If you want teams that perform, managers who coach, and results you can measure, I’m the person you want in the room. Let’s talk.
